"We didn't know you can learn English in the trenches!"

Testimonials

The students are at the centre of all we do. With personal ties to the UK, US, Germany, Switzerland, France, Japan and Korea, the team at Hi-London is committed to preparing our students for a multilingual, multicultural world.  We work with both the students and their parents to define each student's English language goal and do our very best to ensure that each student's time with us is effective and motivating.

Children, teens and adult family members from countries as near as France and Spain and as far as Kazakhstan and Korea have joined us in past years to experience London and learn English. With as many as 6 different mother tongues represented in some classes, the children, teens and adult family members who join our English courses often have no choice but to speak to each other in English. Learning from each other is a key part of the Hi-London experience.

Placed in a relaxed, natural environment, the children, teens and adult family members often find that communicating in English is not as difficult as they thought. Interacting naturally with the teachers, workshop leaders and each other as they explore London, the children, teens and adult family members who come to our school learn English without being fully conscious of all that they are learning. Below are what some of them have shared with us:

After two summers with Hi-London, both of my sons have the maximun qualifications in English! More importantly, they are not afraid to speak in English, and they act as translators for their friends.

Laura from Spain

Nikita's English language teacher noticed immediately the changes in his English and supposed that he had been in the UK (a good guess!). Polina is complaining that she is not studying English at school now (she learns French as a first foreign language); so I have decided to enrol her in an English course as well.

Svetlana from Russia

I was surprised at the beginning of the school year that I understood everything that my English teacher was saying; this had never happened to me before! I was again surprised when I realised that the subtitles of an American TV series I was watching were not correct. Thank you so much for the enormous progress I have made in English!

Gaelle from Switzerland

I just wanted to say thank you all. Naoya had a great time with you guys. He showed me some photos he'd taken with a few of you and other kids. It seems that now he manages to somehow communicate in English, and he enjoys it!
